Its not every day that you get professional photos taken so its only natural that you will have a few questions about the process. We've included some of the most common questions here, however if you have any other queries please feel free to contact
Q: How long does the portrait session take?
A: Portrait sessions usually take about 60-90 minutes depending on the age of the family. We allow a little bit longer for Newborn Sessions as this gives you plenty of time to relax and lots of time for baby feeding and snuggles as required.
Q: Can we come in on a weekend?
A: Yes - we currently offer one weekend a month however they do book up quickly. Our weekday sessions are available on Monday, Wednesday and Thursdays and are a chance for you to book a family day and to do something a bit special.
Q: How do we book in our Newborn session when bubs isn't here yet?
A: We simply pencil your due date in the calendar and then when bubs is born we schedule your session - we normally see you in the first 6-10 days for the tiny curly photos, however we often do later as well depending on how you are feeling.
Q: Can we book hair and makeup with you?
A: Absolutely. We work with a number of amazing freelance artists who know our studio, style and what will photograph best in our environment. We highly recommend booking in some pampering for mum - this is best booked at the same time as the session.
Q: Is there a minimum spend? How much will our portrait session cost?
A: No - We don't have a minimum spend and you don't need to choose anything until you come in. However we do recommend that you have a good idea where you would love to display your portraits in your home as this makes selection easier. During your design consultation we will guide you every step of the way and help with suggestions and display ideas.
Q: Do you offer payment options?
A: Should you find that you simply can't leave something behind, we are happy to discuss payment options with you. Our finance option is very popular and will enable you to have exactly what you desire and to pay just a very small weekly amount while you get to enjoy your beautiful artworks as soon as they are ready. We also accept several major cards such as Visa, MasterCard, Farmers and Q card.
Q: What do we wear?
A: You can get some great ideas here
for what to wear to your session. We have a small selection of women and girls' clothing in the studio as well, so let us know if you would like us to style you as we are happy to do so.
Q: Do we need to bring props etc for our session?
A: If you have something special you would like us to include we can do this happily - some examples are a favourite toy, a musical instrument if this is important to the family, sporting outfits or equipment - anything that helps show who you all are can be a lot of fun to include. However, please don't feel that this is necessary - we do just as many portrait sessions without props as well!
Q:What shall we bring to the session?
A: Feel free to bring a change of clothes for different looks during the session. It can be a good idea to bring snacks and water for the children and a favourite toy for the little ones.
Q: How long until we get to see our beautiful images?
A: We generally book you in for your Design Consultation within a few days. No waiting! We do have toys in the Gallery Room to keep the little ones occupied so you can make your selections easily, however as we set aside an hour and a half, this can be a long time for a little one so we recommend coming in without children so you can really sit back and relax.
Q: Can we purchase the digital copies of our prints?
A: Absolutely! While we specialise in producing beautiful and meaningful artworks for your home, we understand that you may wish to reprint your favorites for family members so we have a number of digital add-ons that allow you to do this. We also have social media files as well which are very popular!
A: We'll have a discussion with you on the phone to discuss what is important to you and how you'd like to have this captured. We'll book
Q: What happens once we decide we want a portrait session?
you in and your session will be confirmed with your session fee over the phone. We'll begin planning how your portrait will look and go over any other ideas you may have.
A: Sometimes we have sessions available immediately however we often book a week or two in advance (further ahead for newborn sessions as we limit these each month to allow for scheduling) - so the best thing is to book as soon as possible.
Q: How far in advance do we have to book?
